This is from a blog done by LifeSong for Orphans. It is a lenten dedication to orphan awareness. They are doing 40 posts over lent which lines up almost right on with the days until our boys are presented in court.
I would say to you that I am an orphan because of Poverty
I would say to you that I am an orphan because of Aids
I would say to you that I am an orphan becasue of War
I would say to you that I am an orphan because of Population Control

Listen and know that I am a Child of God
Listen and know that I want to Know Him
Listen and know that we are Adopted by Him
Listen and know that I Love You

Look for me and I am in a foster care program in your community
Look for me and you will find me as a waiting child in International Adoption
Look for me and you will find me in orphan care needing education, healthcare, nutrition…
Look for me and you will find Him

Ephesians 1: 3-6
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him. In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved.

Sunday evening we got word that our older son has the same court date as our baby! God is so awesome to orchestrate their dates to be on the same day with their referrals being 3 months apart and them not being filed together for court! Please begin praying that both boys will pass the first time through court. Please pray that all necessary papers get into the right hands and that all papers that are needed will miraculously be there. Also, please pray for our boys’ health and protection while they wait to come home. 40 days until court….

Yesterday while enjoying the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, I got a call from a fellow adoptive family who also had Jan 30 as their court date. She said we are all rescheduled for April 6. The courts denied the medical appeal on Nathan. As far as I know, he is doing OK.
Although I wish our wait wasn’t so long, I have a peace that this is God’s timing. I prayed diligently and boldly and consistently that God would grant us the appeal and Nathan would come home quickly. God’s answer of, “No,” surely has a good reason. He sees much clearer than I can see.
Please pray that this 9 week delay will not hinder my desire to nurse Nathan. I will continue to be prepared and pray that God would also prepare Nathan. I believe even at 8.5 months old, the nutrition and bonding from nursing will be beneficial.
We have no word on our older son’s court date yet. We have been filed now for almost 5 weeks. Some people have been filed since mid-December, others are getting their assigned dates sooner. The good news is, there are more judges that have been hired and things should begin to pick up. We still plan to go pick up Nathan and make a second trip for our older son.
Please pray for continued peace as we wait and for our boys’ health and care by our Great God.

We don’t have much of an update and I “fasted” from the computer this past week as the previous week I was checking every half hour. We do know they are appealing for Abenezar due to his weight and recent hospitalization. They are trying to get his case heard sooner. In prayer this week I sensed God urging me to pray against delay in the spiritual realm. There is a war going on that we can’t see. Please pray for extra mighty angels to fight against whatever demons are delaying or blocking us from bringing our son home. Please pray for his health and protection while he and we wait. Hopefully, by next week, we will have good news.
