There’s one week until our two boys’ cases are presented in court in Ethiopia. We are asking everyone to please plan to pray this week. We are specifically asking for prayer on Sunday April 5 because by the time we wake up on Monday, April 6, our case may have been heard already (Ethiopia is 7 hours ahead of us). The specific areas of prayer are:
- Every document needed would be there and if it isn’t, that God would supernaturally put it there.
- Every word, every date, every signature is perfectly readable and correct and if anything isn’t, that God would supernaturally correct it.
- Favor in the eyes of the judges that will be reviewing and approving our case.
- Angels to guard our paperwork and every person who will handle it.
- For Rahel who is the orphanage lawyer who will represent us in court.
- For our boys to continue to be cared for by the Lord as they wait.
- For our family here in the US as we wait in anticipation of good news but also struggle with fear of disappointment and further waiting.
We should know by noon on Monday April 6 if we passed. Please check here and prayerfully, you will see photos of two incredible boys placed in our family by God.
We thank you SO much for your prayers and believe that God will bring our boys home this spring. Our embassy date will be May 20 assuming we pass…and so we should be home Memorial Day weekend.

Two weeks until court. Two weeks and we will know if our boys will bear our last name on April 6. Please perservere in prayer. God has encouraged our hearts with updates on both our boys from wonderful traveling families. One in particular spent extra time with our older son and also visited our younger one and her sharing with us brought life to the following verse:
Like cold water to a weary soul, is good news from a distant land. Psalm 25:25
The following verses have meant a lot to me as I pray:
Isiah 43: 5-6
Fear not, for I am with you; from the east I will bring back your descendants, from the west I will gather you. I will say to the north: Give them up! and to the south: Hold not back! Bring back my sons from afar, and my daughters from the ends of the earth
Isaiah 43:19
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; Do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

He Holds Them
26 days and some hours until court. Waiting is hard.
International adoption is when precious children who you didn’t birth are supernaturally placed in your life and heart by God. You long for them, you pray for them, you prepare in excitement and you weep with each delay. But hardest of all is not being able to reach them, touch them, hold them, care for them. Yet as I wait God assures me through my wonderful husband: As we wait, God holds them. They are in His arms and He cares for them. So I do my best to rest in the assurance that our perfect heavenly father is sovereign and His timing is perfect. I pray in the Spririt at all times and I beg God to bring them home.
In waiting Abraham ws strenthened in his faith and gave glory to God being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. (Romans 4)
I have sought your face with all my heart: be gracious to me according to your promise. (Psalm 119:58)
Remember your Word to your servent, for you have given me hope. (Psalm 119:49)
And hope does not disappoint us… (Romans 5:5)
